The Position
The Manager, Brand & Marketing Services is a newly created leadership role in Corporate Marketing at Foresters which is currently going through a rebranding exercise. Reporting to the AVP Corporate Marketing, our successful candidate will work alongside the AVP in refining, unifying and leveraging Foresters brand in its look, language and application across all three countries in which Foresters operates. In addition this position oversees an in-house team of five. Specifically: Production Coordinator, Coordinator Communication/Writing and a Team Lead, Design Services, who has two Graphic Designers (MAC) reporting to them.
Our successful candidate will:
Assist in the development of the overarching Foresters brand. Key deliverables will include supporting the launch of a new brand framework, visual guidelines, messaging guidelines and brand migration planning. They will act as the lead for any brand education/training work to increase understanding of the brand framework, and the visual verbal standards among key stakeholders.
Work with the Senior Vice President, Chief Membership and Marketing Officer, the AVP, Corporate Marketing and Brand Council to develop a migration plan for the Unity Life brand and migration plans for US and UK to migrate to the new consistent brand platform.
Develop centralized and online delivery system for brand standards, guidelines, assets and other related marketing content needed by internal stewards, agencies (currently working with The Partners from New York) and partners
Protect the Foresters brand by seeking out and changing outdated and inaccurate brand materials
In addition, he/she will aggressively support the marketing of Foresters benefits of membership to improve member and producer awareness and loyalty. This will be accomplished by providing timely, quality, cost-effective creative in support of Membership and Corporate Marketing goals and campaigns.
The department will:
Establish tools (extranet), guidelines, processes and quality assurances around brand compliance
Act as the initial point of contact for requests from internal clients (Membership and Corporate Marketing) to initiate work and support clients marketing objectives by providing timely, quality, cost-effective creative
Accurately and succinctly capture the outputs of client meetings in creative briefs and create sign-off system
Improve creative services capabilities and efficient workflow/job management process/system within the team so as to deliver world class corporate/membership marketing collateral (marketing briefs, project schedules, etc)
Work with internal and external resources to deliver compelling and differentiating creative based upon brand positioning
Oversee the management of applicable supplier relationships.
Oversee the development and delivery of all creative assets for marketing campaigns and collateral within Corporate Marketing and Membership
Budget management and forecasting
Prepare and oversee all HR functions from performance management to vacation planning
Reporting Relationships
The Manager, Brand and Marketing Services will report to the Assistant Vice President, Corporate Marketing, Laury Heydon-O’Neil. Laury has been with Foresters for ten years and has developed excellent relationships and achieved significant business success. She is two-time Gold Quill winner and a Silver Leaf winner (International Association of Business Communicators). Laury reports to Kasia Czarski who joined Foresters about a year ago as Senior Vice President, Chief Membership and Marketing Officer. Kasia comes to Foresters having spent sixteen years at Heart & Stroke Foundation where she played a significant role in developing a high performance team and a very successful brand. Kasia is recognized in the industry as one of the leading minds in marketing and communications.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have/be:
10+ years in production management specifically having managed a team, executed digital and traditional print programs
Strategic branding understanding
Knowledge around process to centralize digital assets
A ‘client service mentality’
Ability to multi-task, work effectively under pressure and be very solution-oriented
Finely tuned project management and time management skills: must be able to manage multiple tasks and individuals both internally and externally to meet deadlines
Someone who enjoys autonomy and is a self-starter
Flexibility to perform effectively in dynamic environment where roles and responsibilities may be periodically blurred
Strong interpersonal skills – influencing at the executive level, collaborative, responsive, motivating others
